Driver of speeding Camaro who killed two in Detroit crash charged

DETROIT – The driver of a car that landed on top of another vehicle Thursday, killing two people,was charged.

Robert Anthony Chaney of Southfield was speeding in a Chevrolet Camaro near Pickford and Whitcomb avenues when he crashed and landed on top of a Chevrolet Malibu. A 20-year-old man and 20-year-old woman were killed in the crash.

Chaney, 37, is charged with operating under the influence causing death and two counts of operating under the influence causing serious bodily injury.

He will be video arraigned Saturday in 34th District Court.
