DTE substation fire knocks out power to 3,000 in Dearborn

Substation is near Michigan Avenue, Howard Street

DEARBORN, Mich. – DTE Energy says 3,00 customers remain without power after a fire Thursday at a substation in Dearborn.

The utility company says it is bringing in generators to help restore power but didn't give a time line on when everything would be back.

The substation is on Michigan Avenue near Howard Street.

Sky 4 over the scene shows a burned van, which might have been responsible for the fire.

It was not immediately clear what caused the fire.
