DTE wrapping up power restorations in Michigan

Utility says all power to be restored Thursday

DTE workers went above and beyond to help customers regain power this holiday.

DETROIT – DTE Energy Co. says its last remaining customers still without power since storms nearly a week ago should have electrical service soon.

The Detroit-based utility says Thursday morning that the last 2,000 of its 375,000 customers that lost power after last Friday's storms will have power restored Thursday. Those storms hit at least 462,000 power customers statewide.

Another round of storms brought heavy rains to Michigan on Wednesday. DTE says it has "some scattered power outages" following the latest stormy weather that will be restored Thursday and Friday.

The center of a severe weather system passed south of Michigan on Wednesday evening, but the National Weather Service says a steady downpour earlier brought up to 2.1 inches of rain in Monroe County.
