The campus has been rocked by violence.

"There is a lack of security on campus," said another student.

EMU wide receiver Demarius Reed's body was found about 7 a.m. Friday by a roommate in the University Green apartment complex. Reed, 20, was shot to death.

"No less than six people heard what they describe as gunshots and no one called the police. We also learned there was a large, loud party with fights and no one called the police," said an officer during the forum.

Students and parents chimed in during the forum.

"So we could work out a plan that is proactive. We should not have to wait for something to happen to our kids," said one concern parent.
