ROSEVILLE, Mich. - A 17-year-old Eastpointe man was arraigned in court on charges of carjacking, breaking and entering a vehicle and resisting arrest.
Police say Dorian Romello Escoe was observed Wednesday tampering with a van parked in a lot on the corner of Frazho and Gratiot in Roseville.
A friend of the van's owner attempted to talk to Escoe, who claimed the van was his.
When the friend told Escoe the police were called, the suspect ran from the lot.
Police arrived and discovered that the steering column was damaged and the contents of the van had been rifled through.
Roseville police were searching for the suspect when a second victim approached them in the area of Oakdale and Lawn.
The victim told police she was on the porch of a house on the 25000 block of Pinehurst, when Escoe walked up to her parked vehicle.
The victim says she used her remote device to ensure that the car was locked.
She says Escoe left and walked down the street, but returned a short time later.
Escoe then walked onto the porch, pulled out a knife and demanded the keys to the woman's car.
She refused and instead talked the suspect into letting her get into the driver seat, under the pretense that she would give the him a ride.
The woman got into her car and drove off before Escoe could get in.
She immediately found police a block away.
Police were able to locate Escoe, who was captured and taken into custody after a foot chase.
Escoe was arraigned on $150,000 cash bond and he will be back in court on Feb 13th.
