DETROIT – Young Detroit residents looking for summer internship opportunities could find themselves working on one of the region's most anticipated transportation projects.

The 2015 M-1 RAIL Summer Internship Program is looking for young, talented Detroiters from high school juniors to recent college grads to join its team for a six-week paid internship.

The program is looking for interns for business support services, communications, construction, external affairs and operations.

Interns will gain hands-on experience working across a number of fields in developing the project under the guidance of experts in the areas of personal finance, health and workplace relations.

Applicants must be ages 16 to 24, at least entering their junior year of high school, have a minimum GPA of 2.5 for most positions and primary residency in Detroit.  The application deadline is May 11.

Applicants are encouraged to attend one of two M-1 RAIL internship information sessions, scheduled the evenings of April 29 and May 5 evenings for a light dinner and information on the M-1 RAIL project.  RSVPs are requested at intern@m1rail.org.
