Emergency call about shooting in Mt. Clemens home was fake, sheriff's office says

MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. – An emergency call Tuesday afternoon about a man shooting his wife in a Mount Clemens home turned out to be fake, according to authorities in Macomb County.

In a statement, Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said the call came into the dispatch center from Warren just before 2 p.m. -- The caller said he had shot his wife in their home on Hollywood Court in Mount Clemens with a shotgun and would shoot anyone else who entered the home.

Deputies responded to the address and blocked off the area.

Wickersham said the report was "unfounded" after detectives determined that the homeowner was at work, and no one else was in the home.
