EMU air-inflated practice facility collapses

No injuries reported

YPSILANTI, Mich. – The air-inflated athletic practice facility at Eastern Michigan University was torn open and collapsed Sunday morning.

The incident happened around 8:30 a.m.

Two soccer teams, who are not affiliated with the university, were practicing in the facility at the time.

The roof slit from east to west and deflated within minutes, but everyone was able to get out of the facility.

No one was injured.

The roughly 85,000-square-foot dome was inflated in 2010.

The university is working to determine the cause.
