Ex-Detroit Lion Brandon Pettigrew arrested at Oklahoma City nightclub

OKLAHOMA CITY – A former Detroit Lion was arrested Sunday morning after a disturbance at a night club in Oklahoma City.

Brandon Pettigrew, 31, is charged with public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

Pettigrew was drafted by the Detroit Lions in 2009, as the 20th overall draft pick.
According to police, several people refused to leave a night club after a disturbance and officers witnessed people yelling and pushing in the parking lot.

Police stepped in and asked Pettigrew to leave the area. Police said Pettigrew was a “very large man” and was verbally defiant with officers.

Pettigrew allegedly threatened to assault his friends and he was placed under arrest. Police said he refused to get in the back seat of a patrol car, but was convinced officers.

Pettigrew was taken to the Oklahoma County Jail.

While playing for the Lions from 2009-2016, Pettigrew racked up 17 touchdowns, and 301 receptions.
After suffering a torn ACL in 2015, Pettigrew struggled to return to form, and was released by the Lions in 2016.
