Ex-Bishop Foley teacher sentenced to prison time in student sex scandal

Kathryn Ronk to spend 6-15 years in prison on third-degree criminal sexual conduct conviction

MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. – A former Bishop Foley High School teacher has been sentenced to at least six years in prison on a criminal sexual conduct charge for an incident involving a 15-year-old student in her classroom.

In February, Kathryn Ronk pleaded guilty to third-degree CSC in a plea deal that dropped first-degree CSC charges against her.

She was sentenced Tuesday to six to 15 years in prison, must pay court fines and comply with sex offender registration.

The prosecution said the 29-year-old Spanish teacher engaged in multiple sex acts with a tenth-grade male student last year.
