BIRMINGHAM, Mich. - A Birmingham family has escaped a Christmas Day fire in their home.
Fire officials on the scene in the 600 block of Kennesaw Street said the blaze started in the home's garage before catching an adjoining room on fire.
Both of the family's cars were destroyed, but the rest of their home only suffered smoke damage.
The family was able to get out of the home unharmed.
The cause of the fire has not yet been released.
