Farmington Hills police: Victim in apartment complex shooting may have done it to himself

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – Farmington Hills police say they've stopped looking for a gunman related to a shooting Tuesday morning in an apartment complex because the victim may have actually shot himself.

In a statement, the department said the 18-year-old victim's story is "inconsistent with some of the evidence" found at the Hunter's Ridge complex, which is near 14 Mile and Orchard Lake roads.

The victim is hospitalized, but is expected to be OK.
