Farmington Hills woman killed, others injured in shooting at Redford bowling alley

REDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – An 18-year-old Farmington Hills woman was killed and two men were injured Saturday night when gunfire was exchanged at the Mayflower Lanes bowling alley on Plymouth Road in Redford Township. 

Redford Township police said two groups of people were arguing at the alley when two men from each group pulled out handguns and started firing. A 33-year-old Redford Township man and a 19-year-old Detroit man were wounded by the gunfire and treated at a nearby hospital. Their conditions are not known at this time.

The 18-year-old woman also was transported to a hospital where she died from her injuries. 

While responding to the shooting, Redford Township officers were flagged down by three females who had fled the bowling alley due to the gunfire, police said. They told officers they had just been robbed while running away from the bowling alley. Officers arrested the male robbery suspect in the area of the bowling alley.

Police said that robbery suspect also was found to have been involved in the initial argument inside the bowling alley. He is a 24-year-old Farmington Hills man. 

Redford Township are investigating.
