FARMINGTON, Mich. -

A Farmington man stands accused of holding an acquaintance against her will, sexually assaulting her and then refusing to surrender to police.

Frederick Leon Perkins has been charged with three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of unlawful imprisonment.

During the early morning hours of Sept. 12, a woman was able to escape a house on Hawthorne Street where she had been allegedly held against her will, threatened with a gun and assaulted by Perkins, police said.

When police confronted Perkins, he refused to come out of the house. Perkins and police were engaged in a standoff for hours before Perkins surrendered.

Police said the victim knew Perkins and told them he hadn’t ever been abusive to her before.

Perkins’ bond is set at $100,000 and he’s being held in the Oakland County Jail.
