Fight between brother, sister turns deadly in Detroit

Witnesses describe horrifying scene after brother pulled gun on his sister before she ran him over with car

DETROIT – Family members are stunned after a fight between a brother and sister in Detroit left one of them dead and the other in the hospital with a gunshot wound.

Witnesses say it started outside a home on Pelkey near 7 Mile Road. Family members said 47-year-old Terry Hill was killed by his own sister, an estranged woman he just reconnected with a few months ago.

"He just wanted a relationship with her so bad," said Vicki Smith, Hill's sister.

Witnesses said the sister drove to the house and slammed into a car in the driveway. Hill then came out of the house with a pistol at his side. That's when the sister pinned Hill against the wall of the house.

Neighbors said they heard Hill screaming, "We're family!" He then shot into the windshield of the car.

"It was like eight of them. I heard like pow, pow, pow, pow, pow, and I'm like, oh my goodness," said neighbor Brittany Williamson.

One of the bullets grazed the woman's head. That's when police sources said the woman took her car and ran over Hill repeatedly until he died.

"She ran him over. He's all of my family. He tried so hard to bring everybody together," said Smith. "I want justice. I want her to go to jail for life."

Police said the sister that was wounded and was driven to the hospital by her mother. She was expected to go to police once she was treated.

It's not clear if the sister will face charges.

Police said they are trying to piece together the timeline of events to figure out who attacked who first.
