HARRISON TWP., Mich. – Several people were rescued early Monday morning from an apartment building fire in Harrison Township.

The fire broke out around 3 a.m. at the Brittany Park Apartments, which are off I-94 and Shook Road.

Fire officials and deputies on the scene said a kitchen grease fire in a second-floor apartment appears to be the cause.

The 24-year-old resident in the apartment where the fire started is being treated for second-degree burns.

Three others were treated for smoke inhalation, but every one else was able to get out of the building safely.

The fire spread quickly and fire crews from Harrison Township, Roseville and Clinton Township were called in to put it out.
