Fire at Detroit home claims life of 2nd victim

DETROIT – A 91-year-old Detroit woman who was rescued from the fire that claimed the life of her 94-year-old husband on Monday has died.

Roberta Adams' death comes just days after her son, firefighters and neighbors tried to save the couple when flames erupted in their home on Yellowstone Street.

John Adams died in the fire. Roberta Adams had been hospitalized since the fire, but was taken off life support and passed away.

Fire investigators said the fire started in the couple's downstairs bedroom, but a cause has not yet been released.

The couple's adult son was able to escape the fire unharmed.
