Fire destroys warehouse in Troy; 1 firefighter treated for dehydration symptoms

TROY, Mich. – A 10,000-square-foot storage building in southwest Troy has been completely destroyed by a fire.

The fire at the building at 1300 Coolidge Highway took hours to extinguish on Wednesday.

The fire department said one firefighter was treated for symptoms of dehydration and was taken to Beaumont Hospital as a precaution.

No other injuries were reported.

The building, which was used to store metal and wood, is a "total loss," according to the fire department.

A fire also broke out about 100 yards from the building in an outdoor storage and a semi trailer, but firefighters were able to contain and extinguish it.

The cause of the fire has not been released.
