Officials say the home was moderately damaged by the fire.

Crews were called to the same home at 9 p.m. and found the building completely engulfed in flames. Horvath called for help and firefighters battled the blaze for about two hours. When the fire was put out, the home had received extensive damage. Firefighters kept the fire contained to that house.

Thirty minutes into the battle with the second fire on Eastwood Drive, a fire was reported at a home in the 20200 block of Elkhart Street a few blocks away. Horvath called for a fourth alarm to handle the fire and officials extinguished the flames quickly. The home sustained moderate damage.

There were no injuries to firefighters or residents during the fires and no other property was damaged.

Authorities will begin to investigate the fire on Saturday morning. Anyone with information is asked to call Harper Woods police.
