Firefighters hurt while battling fire at Roseville industrial building

Three-alarm fire breaks out at building on Little Mack near 12 Mile

ROSEVILLE, Mich. – A three-alarm fire in Roseville had several Macomb County fire departments working through the night.

Local 4 has learned the M.E.G.A. Precast building on Little Mack near 12 mile went up in flames just before 9 p.m. Wednesday night.

Fire Chief Mike Holland confirms that two fire fighters were injured while battling the flames.

One had a jammed thumb.  She was checked by EMS and went back to work. The other, was taken away on a stretcher after his foot was crushed. He is expected to be ok.

"These injuries were very minor, but had to have our crew checked out as precaution," said Roseville Fire Chief, Mike Holland.

 Chief Holland says the interior part of the building is completely destroyed but the cement structure, that the company produces, is still standing intact.

 "The owner has already told me he's thinking about rebuilding," said Chief Holland.

 The cause of the fire is still unknown. Several floors collapsed and Chief Holland says it will be days before they can determine what started the fire.

 Assistance came from Centerline, Fraser, Mt. Clemens, Clinton Township, St. Clair Shores and Eastpointe was needed to put out the fire.

 Little Mack  between 12 and 13 Mile will remain closed for several hours while crews continue to put out hot spots and salt the wet and icy road.Â
