Ford dealership employee dies after accident on lot in Dearborn

DEARBORN, Mich. – An employee at a Ford dealership in Dearborn has died after being involved in an accident Tuesday morning on the lot.

Sky 4 was over the scene at Fairlane Ford on Michigan Avenue as the employee, a 59-year-old Lincoln Park man, was tended to by rescue crews on the pavement before being taken to a hospital.

Police said the man was in the process of moving vehicles as part of his daily duties when he became pinned between a pickup truck he was driving and another one that was parked.

“He worked here for more than 20 years and everyone here will miss him dearly,” Fairlane Ford President Julie Walker said. “He was our detail manager. He made sure all of the cars were spotless when they were delivered to our clients.”

The man's name has not yet been released by police.

"It is uncertain, at this time, whether the employee suffered from a medical condition or had been injured as a result of the collision," police said.
