Forecast: Some will get Saturday rain in metro Detroit

But hot, summer weather is still on the way!

DETROIT – Mostly cloudy skies overnight, but the night should be mainly dry. Lows near 60.

As I've been telling you most of the week, we have a very nebulous weather pattern developing for Saturday, and today's computer models are suggesting that enough moisture will get into the area to trigger some showers, and even an isolated thundershower or two.

I think most of us will start our Saturday dry, but light rain will start moving in from the southeast (not the typical direction, but this is not the typical weather pattern), which gives those of you on the east side the biggest rain chances.

As the day progresses, scattered showers will pop up across the rest of the area. So, we all have the chance for some showers Saturday, but the farther west you are, the more scattered it will be. Rain should quickly taper off Saturday evening. Highs in the low to mid 70s, and lows Saturday night dropping into the low 60s.

Mostly sunny on Sunday, with highs in the low 80s. Mostly clear Sunday night, with lows in the mid 60s.

Mostly sunny and warmer on Monday, with humidity starting to creep up. Highs in the mid 80s. Mostly clear Monday night, with lows in the low 70s.

Mostly sunny, hot and humid on Tuesday, with highs in the upper 80s to near 90. Partly cloudy Tuesday night, with lows in the low 70s.

Partly cloudy early on Wednesday, then showers and thunderstorms develop. Highs in the mid 80s. Showers and thunderstorms are likely Wednesday night, with lows in the upper 60s.

Thursday still has a rain chance, but hopefully that will taper off by the end of the day. Highs in the upper 70s.

Partly cloudy on Friday, with highs in the low 80s.
