SOUTHFIELD – A forum will be held Sunday to provide citizens an opportunity to get to know the candidates running in the newly established 14th Congressional District.
The forum's focus will be "Who Are We? Who are the Candidates? And Why Does It Matter?"

The event is held at Shaarey Zedek in Southfield on Sunday, starting at 3:30 p.m.
The new district stretches through southeast Michigan from Pontiac, West Bloomfield and Farmington Hills, eastward across the northern tier of the City of Detroit and into the Grosse Pointes, and then southward to include downtown and southwest Detroit.
The candidates who have been invited to participate in the July 1 Candidates Forum are: Representative Hansen Clarke (Democrat), Bob Costello (Democrat), John Hauler (Republican), Southfield Mayor Brenda Lawrence (Democrat), Representative Gary Peters (Democrat) and Mary Waters (Democrat).
