Four teens are in custody for three armed robberies

The incidents happened earlier this morning

DETROIT – Detroit police have four teens in custody for three armed robberies that happened this morning.

The suspects in custody are two – 17 year old black males, one 15-year-old black male and one 14-year-old black male.

The first robbery happened on East 7 Mile and Gratiot at 5:50 a.m. where the suspects robbed a 13-year-old black male that was waiting at the bus stop. The suspects threatened the victim taking his money, headphones and lunch.

The second incident, an attempted robbery, happened at Troester / Hayes at 6:00 a.m., when the suspects stopped and asked a 54-year-old male victim for a lighter.

When the victim told the suspects he did not have one, the suspects then threatened him telling him to give up his money. The victim did not have any money and the suspects were unable to take anything from him.

The third incident happened on Courville and Stratman at 8:00 a.m., when the suspects pulled up to the 16-year-old male victim and pointed a gun at him while demanding money. The victim obliged and the suspects stole $8 from him and fled in a stolen silver Chrysler 300.

When police located the suspects and attempted them over, the suspects continue to flee causing a short chase. At 8:40 a.m., officers from the Ninth precinct were able apprehend the suspects and recovered a gun from the vehicle.
