Free toxic toy testing offered at Grosse Pointe Public Library

Testing at Grosse Pointe Public Library on Saturday

GROSSE POINTE PARK, Mich. – Parents can bring their children's toys to the Grosse Pointe Public Library on Saturday so they can be tested for toxic chemicals.

The Ecology Center and LocalMotionGreen will co-host the Toxic Toy Testing event.

Parents can bring items such as toys, beach gear and baby products. Experts will use an X-ray fluorescence device to check them for potentially dangerous chemicals like lead and cadmium.

There will also be information on how to reduce your family's exposure to toxins in everyday products.

The Toxic Toy Testing will be at the Ewald Branch located at 15175 East Jefferson Ave. from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
