Fugitive Michigan sex offender arrested in Arizona

DETROIT – A man authroities are calling one of Michigan most wanted sex offenders has been arrested in Arizona.

The U.S. Marshals Service said 51-year-old Anthony Wayne Dolson, was taken into custody Thursday morning in Phoenix.

Dolson was on Michigan's "Top Ten Most Wanted" for failing to register as a sex offender.

On July 13, 1993, Dolson pleaded guilty in Michigan to several counts of criminal sexual conduct with a person under 13, and was sentenced to six to 15 years in the custody of the Michigan Department of Corrections.

As a convicted sex offender, Dolson is required by law to register his address with law enforcement; however, Dolson failed to do so and subsequently absconded.

Deputy U.S. Marshals in Michigan developed information that Dolson fled to Arizona. 

Information concerning Dolson's possible whereabouts was passed on to the U.S. Marshals Service in Arizona, who tracked down Dolson.
