Jawan McQueen killed Tuesday morning at Detroit gas station

DETROIT – A fund has been established to benefit the family of a cab driver who was shot dead at a Detroit gas station this week.

Jawan McQueen died Tuesday morning when he was shot by two men who were trying to rob him while he was parked in his Checker Cab at a Mobil gas station at Connor Street and Harper Avenue.

Police said it appears the 47-year-old fired back at the two men and hit at least one of them because there was a trail of blood that was left at the scene. However, no arrests have been made.

McQueen was married with children.
