DETROIT - The funeral for one of Detroit's greatest boxing trainers will in November at Greater Grace Temple Church.

Emanuel Steward, who was also the owner of the legendary Kronk Gym, died Thursday in a Chicago hospital. He was 68.

His cause of death was not released.

Church spokesman Melvin Epps said a family hour will be held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 13. The funeral service will follow at noon. The church is located at 23500 W. Seven Mile Road in Detroit.

The International Boxing Hall of Famer made his name training Thomas Hearns at the Kronk Gym in Detroit. That paved the way for Steward to work with a long line of champion boxers such as champion Lennox Lewis, during a big part of his title run, and current heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko as recently as July.

At Steward's Kronk Gym, his fighters were clad in red and gold trunks. He also worked as an analyst for HBO.
