WARREN, Mich. – A 9-year-old girl was mauled by a pit bull in Warren Friday afternoon, according to police.
The incident happened in an empty field on Jackson Avenue near Hoover Road.

Neighbors say the girl suffered significant injuries on her face.
The girl is listed in stable condition.
It's unclear how the pit bull got loose or if the owner will face charges. The dog was taken away by Animal Control.
