Going Out Of Business: Borders Extends Deals

New Merchandise Offered At Superstores

DETROIT – Borders is extending part of its going-out-of-business sale.

The Ann Arbor-based company said it will run the Borders "Rewards PLUS" card discounts through Sunday.

Company representatives said the deals are based on the type of book.

A 25 percent discount applies to all audio books, e-readers, DVDs, and books in the mystery, thriller, cooking, science fiction, history and religion categories.

Books in the diet, biography, self-help, general reference and humor sections are now marked down 30 percent.

There is a 40 percent discount on material in the crime, business, philosophy, performing arts and romance sections.

Company representatives said new merchandise from its warehouses is being placed in Borders Superstore locations.

The discounts apply to in-store purchases only.
