Golden Tate to help promote health fair at Walmart Saturday

Tate will help customers at America's Biggest Health Fair

DETROIT – Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate will be at the Walmart at 7555 Telegraph Road from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday to encourage customers to participate in America's Biggest Health Fair by walking them through the process of getting a flu shot.

America's Biggest Health Fair will be held at more than 4,400 stores in the United States, allowing associates and customers to take advantage of free blood glucose and blood pressure tests. Visitors can also get vision screenings, product samples and health insurance information.

Immunizations will be administered by Walmart's more than 10,000 licensed pharmacists.

Health screenings take about 10 minutes to administer.

Walmart expects that at least 3,000 people tested during the four-hour event will be undiagnosed diabetics and more than 7,000 will learn they suffer from high blood pressure.

The fair runs from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.
