Here's a statement from the school district:

At approximately 11:15 a.m. a report of a suspicious adult in the vicinity of South High School was reported to the main office. He was described as an elderly man in a green jacket and ski mask. Grosse Pointe Farms police were contacted. They placed the school in lockdown as a precaution. All hallways, bathrooms, and areas of the building were checked, and the camera system was reviewed to ensure no one had gained access. With this due diligence and an abundance of caution, we are happy to report there was never any stranger found in our building. Police have made contact with the individual.

GPPSS thanks our students, staff and community members for being our eyes and ears and welcome their input as we all work together to ensure a safe and secure learning environment.
