GROSSE POINTE FARMS, Mich. – A school in Grosse Pointe was on lockdown briefly Friday after a suspicious person was seen outside the building.
Grosse Pointe South High School no longer is on lockdown. The school district said the lockdown was out of an “abundance of caution.”

At approximately 11:15 a.m. a report of a suspicious adult in the vicinity of South High School was reported to the main office. He was described as an elderly man in a green jacket and ski mask. Grosse Pointe Farms police were contacted. They placed the school in lockdown as a precaution. All hallways, bathrooms, and areas of the building were checked, and the camera system was reviewed to ensure no one had gained access. With this due diligence and an abundance of caution, we are happy to report there was never any stranger found in our building. Police have made contact with the individual.
