Grosse Pointe Woods police: Masked gunmen rob 'Telly's Place'

Police say bartender, manager forced to open safe for 2 gunmen

GROSSE POINTE WOODS, Mich. – Grosse Pointe Woods police say two masked gunmen robbed Telly's Place early Monday morning.

Police said the bar's manager and a bartender were leaving the establishment on Mack Avenue around 2:30 a.m. when two men, armed with a shotgun and a pistol, got out of a gray Mazda and confronted them.

The manager and bartender were forced back inside the bar by the gunmen and ordered to open a safe, police said.

The gunmen got away with money, jewelry and even took the bar's surveillance system.

The manager and bartender were not hurt.

Police haven't released a detailed description of the gunmen, but said they are also looking for a dark colored minivan that may also be connected to the crime.
