Group plans protest to evict emergency managers

The Coalition for Detroit's Independence wants to restore the city's democratic freedom

DETROIT – Detroiters are working to evict Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr and Detroit Public Schools Emergency Manager Roy Roberts. The Coalition for Detroit's Independence will hold a  protest Thursday in an effort to remove them both.

The protest will take place Thursday at 9 a.m. in front of the Westin Book Cadillac Hotel. The hotel is where Orr is living right now. The CDI wants to make it clear to Orr, Roberts and Governor Snyder that time is running out on their reign over Detroit.

This comes after Orr invited creditors to take a bus tour around the city. He wants them to visit neighborhoods such as Brightmoor, to see the hardships Detroit face.
