Groups upset about the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Florida rallied in a downtown Detroit park Sunday evening.

The Coalition Against Police Brutality was one of the groups sponsoring the Sunday evening rally at Grand Circus Park.

The group says the action is a protest against the "egregious jury verdict" in favor of George Zimmerman" in the 2012 killing.

Detroit police spokeswoman Sgt. Eren Stephens says the protest was peaceful and "no incidents were reported."
