Happy hour help for abandoned, abused animals

ROYAL OAK, Mich. – Happy hour will take on a deeper meaning Thursday at BlackFinn in Royal Oak.

4Paws 1Heart is hosting a fundraiser to benefit abandoned and abused animals Sept. 26.

The organization funds medical treatment for homeless animals and works with local veterinarians and rescue groups to help find them permanent homes.

Regular happy hour starts at 5:30 p.m. and goes till 7:00 p.m., during which patrons are encouraged to make a monetary donation directly to the organization.

After 7 p.m. guest will be able to purchase a $10 wrist band for additional drink specials until 9 p.m. Only proceeds from wrist band sales, along with any voluntary donations, go to 4Paws 1Heart.

Free appetizers will be passed around and a raffle for a $50 BlackFinn gift certificate will take place.

Stop bye after work, have a drink and unwind Thursday. While you're there for happy hour don't forget to donate or buy a wrist band to support an earnest cause.

4Paws 1Heart is a 501-C3 charitable organization. Diana Rascano, president of the group, says other than the cost of a monthly phone bill, all donations go directly to the care of sick and injured homeless animals.

Snickers the cat was rescued this summer and treated by the group for an infection that nearly left him blind.

Hercules was left beaten and crippled last year by his owner. The injured pup received lifesaving treatment thanks to the organization.

To date, the group has helped more than 500 animals recover from illness, injury, neglect and abuse.
