Harper Woods City Hall, fire, police departments don't have power

911 calls being transferred to Grosse Pointe Woods

HARPER WOODS, Mich. – Harper Woods City Hall and it's fire and police departments don't have power.

Chief of Police Jim Burke said Tuesday morning that City Hall would be closed for the day and the 911 calls were being transferred to the Grosse Pointe Woods Police Department. He didn't know when power would be restored.

DTE Energy Co. says roughly 56,000 of its 2.1 million customers were without power early Tuesday. CMS Energy Corp.'s Consumers Energy unit reported about 9,000 of its 1.8 million Michigan customers were out Tuesday morning.
