Heatwave finally ends for Metro Detroit

Comfortable weather for the start of the week

There will finally be some relief from the heat in Metro Detroit this week.

After a couple of lingering thunderstorms exit Lenawee and possibly Monroe Counties by roughly 6:00a.m. Sunday, skies will become mostly sunny. It will be noticeably less humid Sunday as well, with highs in the low 80s. It will be mostly clear Sunday night, with much more comfortable lows in the low 60s (50s north of M-59).

Monday, expect skies to become partly cloudy, with a few showers possible during the afternoon. Not everybody will get one but, if you do, be thankful: there won't be any more rain after that at least through next Sunday. The comfortable weather will continue into midweek, but temperatures will start heating up again toward the end of the week, and approach 90 degrees by next weekend.

Fortunately, there shouldn't be any rain for the U.S. Senior Open at Indianwood in Lake Orion this week.
