Highland Park reserve officer in stable condition after shooting

Off-duty officer shot early Sunday morning

DETROIT, MI – An off-duty Highland Park reserve officer is now in stable condition after being shot while at a block club party on Detroit's east side.

Reserve officer Robert Ball was shot in the stomach. Ball was taken to St.John hospital, where he underwent surgery.

The shooting happened in the 19000 block of Teppert St. around 2:30 Sunday morning.

Police tell Local 4 the shooting was a drive-by, the suspect is unknown at the time.
