GROSSE POINTE, Mich. -

A historic suburban Detroit farmhouse is being moved about two blocks to make room for a new hospital parking deck.

Crews for Beaumont Health System on Wednesday used a truck to move the Cadieux Farmhouse in Grosse Pointe. The move initially scheduled for Tuesday was delayed by storms.

The roughly 800-square-foot farmhouse was built in the 1850s in Detroit and floated by barge to a first location. It was moved again in 1870.

Beaumont, which has a hospital in Grosse Pointe, bought the home in 2011. It's paying about $80,000 to move the building for the home's new owner.
