Home invasion victim shoots at reporter

88-year-old man victim of home invasion days before

DETROIT – An 88-year old man was arrested Monday night after investigators say he fired shots at a reporter who knocked on his door.

Mr. Streeter isn't someone most would look at and consider to be a threat; he's elderly and frail, but he was armed, and after what he went through four days ago, that last fact isn't too surprising.

Thursday evening there was a knock at Streeter's front door. The person knocking was a woman who encouraged the 88-year-old to open the door. As he did, two men rushed inside his home.

Streeter was knocked to the floor and the two men put a gun to his head, forced him upstairs, placed a blanket over his head, tied a telephone cord around his arms and legs and ransacked his east side home.

The thieves got away with $600 and a cellphone.

It's unclear what the condition of the reporter is.
