Police said the victim, who was physically and mentally challenged, appeared to have tried to help William Thomas Goad. The two were seen on security video entering the apartment building together, but only Goad was seen leaving.
Goad was allegedly caught on video going back to the man's apartment -- even after the murder -- to steal a TV. The victim's car, a Cobalt, was also stolen. It was found on a side street in Detroit and the investigation led to Goad, who was found begging in the area of 8 Mile and I-75.
