DETROIT – Michigan State Police said a 43-year-old man died Sunday afternoon when his Dodge Viper crashed in Hartland Township.
Police said Martin Morse appeared to have been excessively accelerating from M-59 onto the northbound ramp of US-23 when the car lost control and struck the center median cable barrier.

The cable barrier has three cables and the vehicle traveled under the top two cables but was stopped by the bottom cable.
Morse, a Howell resident, died at the scene.
