Howell man facing federal charges for child porn

Convicted sex offender has hundreds of images of child porn, investigator says

DETROIT – A 44-year-old Howell man is facing federal charges on allegations he possessed and distributed child porn.

In a statement Friday, United States Attorney Barbara L. McQuade said a search warrant on Dennis Fraser's email account found images of children engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

A search of Fraser's computer uncovered 211 images of child porn, McQuade said.

According to the criminal complaint against Fraser, investigators began looking into his file sharing in December 2014 when they were tipped off about an album titled "young naked teens outdoors."

Investigators were able to track the IP address to Fraser's apartment.

During an interview with investigators, Fraser denied viewing and downloading child porn, but "admitted that he limited his contact with children because he is sexually attracted to them," according to the complaint.

Fraser is a registered sex offender in Michigan. He was convicted in 2010 for possession and distribution of child sexually abusive material.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Friday afternoon.
