Hundreds of Detroit-area kids are getting the chance to play ball at the home of the Tigers.
The annual Willie Horton's Batting for Kids baseball challenge is to be held Monday.
Children ages 5 to 15 are eligible to take part in a competition that includes base running, hitting and throwing. The kids also can take part in baseball demonstration clinics.
It's all happening at Comerica Park.
Registration is $25 per child with limited space available. Event proceeds will benefit Don Bosco Hall, an agency that provides social service programs to enhance the lives of area kids and their families.
The top boy and girl in each age division will be recognized in a ceremony before the Tigers take on the Washington Nationals at the ballpark on July 30.
