DETROIT -

The hunt is on for nearly $10,000 in cash after a Los Angeles-based muralist claims to have left the money somewhere in Detroit.

According to David Choe's Facebook page, it was during a short stop in Detroit on Sunday that he claims to have left $10,000 in cash hidden in the Motor City.

Why? Because Choe says he can.

Oliver Harfield said he will search for the alleged hidden cash.

"I think it's a cool idea," said Harfield. "I guess I'm going adventuring tomorrow."

There were only a few clues posted online of where the hidden money may be.

Choe wrote on one of his posts, "There was $$$ in that hole in that couch in Detroit earlier today, but who knows now."

Choe claims the money is also mostly $1 bills and a few $100 bills, scattered in a city of over 138 square miles.
