Husband and wife shot, husband killed in Detroit

Police searching for suspects

DETROIT – Police are investigating after a woman and a man were shot Saturday night in northwest Detroit.

The incident happened around 9:45 p.m. Saturday in the 20100 block of Mendota Avenue.

The woman, 28, was shot in the hand and was taken to a hospital and was listed in temporary-serious condition.

The woman's husband, 30, was also shot. Both victims were taken to the hospital and that's where the husband died.

Police say the shooting stemmed from an argument between neighbors. Allegedly, the husband tried to break up a fight between his wife and another woman. Police say that's when a man, who lives on the same block, fired shots.

Both suspects left the scene before police arrived. No arrests have been made.
