DETROIT - Cleanup for a tanker that caught fire on I-94 Wednesday morning is still under way.
The scene is in the eastbound lanes near Mt. Elliott. Traffic was clogged between there and Van Dyke.
The eastbound side of the interstate has reopened and traffic is flowing again. Cleanup continues on the shoulder.
The fire started when the tanker's cab lost a wheel and it hit the pavement.
The driver was able to escape the fire.
A hazmat crew is on scene because the tanker was carrying paint thinner - but there's no immediate threat to anyone in the area.
Crews used a hose from the service drive to put out the fire.
