I-75 reopens in Detroit Sunday

Section of interstate was closed for weekend

DETROIT – Northbound and southbound I-75 has reopened between M-10 and I-375 Sunday morning, hours before it was scheduled to reopen.

The freeway and ramps slowly began reopening at around 9 a.m.

All lanes and ramps were reopened at around 11 a.m.

As part of the ongoing Michigan Department of Transportation and M-1 RAIL project, crews closed northbound and southbound I-75 between M-10 (Lodge Freeway) and I-375 to set bridge beams at M-1 (Woodward Avenue).

The full closure began at 9 p.m. Friday and was scheduled to end by 5 a.m. Monday.

Traffic impacts:

Northbound I-75 was closed at the I-75/M-10 (Lodge Freeway)/Rosa Parks Boulevard shared ramp. The exit ramps from northbound I-75 to Clark and Livernois Avenues were still open, but the entrance ramps were closed. In addition, the eastbound I-96 and M-10 (Lodge Freeway) ramps to northbound I-75 were closed.

The detour for northbound I-75 through traffic is westbound I-96, to eastbound I-94, to northbound I-75. One lane of traffic stayed open from northbound I-75 to M-10 for local traffic.

Southbound I-75 was closed between I-375 and M-10 (Lodge Freeway). The ramp from northbound I-375 and southbound M-3 (Gratiot Avenue) was also closed.

The detour for southbound I-75 is westbound I-94 to eastbound I-96 to southbound I-75.

Parking:

Parking west of Woodward, southbound M-10 is recommended.
Parking east of Woodward, southbound I-75/I-375 is recommended.

Gameday parking:

• All parking properties east of Woodward Ave. and FOX Garage / Columbia Lot are open three hours before the game.
• All parking properties west of Woodward Ave. are open two hours before the game.
• It is recommended that guests utilize the various shuttles that many local bars, restaurants, and casinos offer.
