I-96 shutdown in Livonia, Redford delayed due to wintry weather

MDOT delays I-96 reconstruction at least 1 week due to cold, wintry weather

LIVONIA, Mich. – Construction on a stretch of Interstate 96 through Livonia and Redford Township likely will be pushed back due to winter weather.

The interstate will be closed in both directions from Telegraph Road to Newburgh Road for a massive reconstruction project which was expected to get started late this month with the shutdown beginning on March 24.

However, because of the continuing cold and snowy weather, the Michigan Department of Transportation is delaying the closure for at least one week.
